Dr George Manu (Chairman)

Dr George Manu is Non-Executive Chairman of Oasis Capital Ghana Limited. He has worked in the private sector, academia and with the United Nations and carried out specialist assignments in over 50 countries on 4 continents. For 5 years, he was CEO of EMPRETEC Ghana Foundation, which successfully combined business development and financial services targeted at growth-oriented SMEs.  Prior to that, for 6 years, he was head of SME Development at the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization (ILO) based in Italy. Previous appointments include faculty positions at the University of Durham Business School and University of Stirling School of Management, as well as industry practice in the UK.

Since 2008, George has managed the West Africa hub of the Africa Enterprise Challenge Fund - a US$ 200 million facility backed by some of the biggest names in development finance.  His portfolio comprises investments in companies spread across 8 countries in the sub-region.  He is a Director of KPMG with responsibility for International Development Advisory Services in West Africa.  He has served on several Boards including the Divestiture Implementation Committee (Ghana’s privatization agency), an investment climate facility, a private equity fund and a ministerial advisory council.  He holds a Masters degree and a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Durham, UK.
